I’ve had every chance to leave this town—the one I swore I’d never get stuck in. And yet, here I am. It’s not like I belong here. I don’t relate to anyone, don’t have much in common with anybody. Most days, it feels like I’m living in a place that was never meant for me. But no matter how far I try to go, my family pulls me back. They’re my everything, the only thing that makes this place feel less suffocating. Maybe I stay because, deep down, I know that no matter where I go, home isn’t a place—it’s them.
